I started my job search with no idea how it would turn out. All I hoped for was to get an offer with a company I was excited to work at with great opportunities to flex my coding muscles. I aimed for one offer and got five in two weeks. Here’s how!
I’ve accepted a job offer! I’ll be a Software Engineer at Tictail starting on July 10th! Thanks to everyone who has supported me along the way. This win is just as much yours as it is mine.
Week 14 marks the second week of the job search. I’m finally feeling confident in my abilities. The unknown is still scary though. It still feels like I’m walking into the dark, but I’ve seen some light this past week. Happily moving forward.
Week 13 was the first week of job search. I’m trying to find a rhythm to stick to, and find something enjoyable to do every day. The stress is high, and my self-expectations are even higher.
Week 12 was filled with many ups and downs. Completing 12 weeks at app academy felt like a mini victory, but it was overshadowed by the fact that I’m now in full job-search mode.
Week 9 was incredibly taxing. Finishing my final project felt like a huge achievement, but it also marks the start of the job search period. One tough phase leads to the next. Bring it on.
Week 5 was meh. Our fourth assessment caused panic with everyone, we started javascript, and I’ve become more nervous about getting a job after this. Generally, I’ve been doing a LOT of thinking.
Week 4 was good. Not great, but not terrible. We used rails to create apps, and learned authentication to protect our users’ info! This week was the most exhausting of all, but I’m really excited to build my own stuff.
Week three was relatively peaceful. There is SO MUCH to absorb, but I’m getting comfortable with being uncomfortable, and it’s helping me move forward more confidently.
